STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF DEATH RESULTING FROM SOME SELECTED DISEASES; A CASE STUDY OF ZONAL HOSIPITAL IDAH, KOGI STATE.
Abstract
This study “Statistical Analysis of Death Resulting from some Selected Diseases: A case study of Zonal Hospital Idah,” examines the influence of some selected diseases that lead to death. The potential diseases that lead to death were identified as Malaria, Typhiod and Anemia. Poisson regression and Negative binomial regression were the models used for the analysis; Stata 14 was used for the analysis of this study. The Poisson Regression and Negative Binomial Regression indicate the presence and severity of explanatory variable. This is as a result of the tendency for the disease (malaria, typhoid, anemia) to move together over the time since their disease magnitude are usually influenced by some factors and consequently act in the same pattern to those factors, they arise overtime. The result suggests that governmental and non-governmental agencies who went to campaign against any of the disease should make sure that such campaign put the three diseases into consideration without living out any of these diseases. The result further suggested that doctor or health personnel’s in the zone under study should make sure that any patient suffering from malaria should be treated alongside with typhoid and anemia for any attempts to treat one of the diseases living the other(s) will proof the treatment abortive
Chapter One
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Also, to the positive concept emphasize on social and potential resources, as a physical capacity. Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotion, and social well-being. Healthy means to be free from illness and total disappearance of sickness form human being. Morbidity is the state of disease in human population and also indicates areas where the study of investigation of illness or disease in a population as one of the components of healthy statistics, death rate is taken into consideration with reference to its cause(s). Although there are many diseases across the world some are pertain to region those that are common in West Africa are malaria, measles, chicken box, anemia, to mention few. For the purpose of this research work, death and its causes like malaria, typhoid fever and anemia are put into consideration. Malaria fever is a deadly disease that could be easily caused by mosquitoes Johnson, B. (2023). Malaria is a fever produced by several and characterized by the occurrence chills, fever, and sweating, at intervals of definite these symptoms are wholly absent (intermittent fever) or only partially so (remittent fever). Due to the nearness of river in Idah town and its environs, several people in the areas are subjected to malaria attack which may lead to their death if not taken care of Garcia, E. (2023)
